There is not much to be said other than this: By April (or the end of April) all music in the iTunes Music Store will be DRM-free. Hooray!
Willow and I are some of the "Kool-Aid" drinkers who were more than happy to give up physical media to purchase my music (legally) in a digital format. We use a Mac at home to listen to music, we've both used (a number of) iPods to listen to music on-the-go. This is just to say that we have a significant investment in iTunes-purchased music, that is locked into the Apple ecosystem.
The reason I am so excited about this is that I also have a SliMP3 (I know...) and am a Linux nerd, so would prefer to have my music available to me wherever and however I want it. I have the ability to stream my music to a number of places -- as long as it is in a non-DRM format.
Thank you to Apple and (gasp) the music labels for (finally!) making this happen.

You and me both!!! One of the reasons I've resisted ITUNES is over this issue and now ITUNES downloads here I come!!!
